Shasta Backcountry Ski ClinicOur Introduction to Backcountry Skiing Clinic is a fantastic introduction to the world of backcountry skiing.  Developed for the intermediate to an advanced in-bounds skier who wants to go beyond the lifts and resorts. Our two-day clinic starts with day one to refine your techniques and make adjustments to the new gear. Start on easy terrain while progressively moving to ground that we will experience on a backcountry ski.  Receive instruction from a PSIA certified ski instructor or backcountry ski guide on techniques for backcountry skiing. After a night in Mt. Shasta at our private SWS Mountain Guides Bunkhouse. Day two takes us into Mt. Shasta's famed backcountry.  A full day tour on the lower mountain puts the skills from day one into action as well as learning new tactics.  The day will focus on learning how to select safely and negotiate both the uphill and downhill terrain.  Our tour teaches us how to do this as efficiently as possible all leading up to an epic downhill adventure.
Mt Shasta is perhaps the best location in the world for the aspiring backcountry skier.  Steep chutes, wide open bowls, and mellow glades offer an amazing variety for anyone learning to backcountry ski.  Join our guides and perfect your backcountry skiing in some of the best backcountry skiing in California.
